just a tip

many people are like my mom who refuse to try something called

                     MorningStar Farms® Meal Starters® Grillers® Recipe Crumbles™

especially when the package says meat free.
here is a little trick i use to help out with cooking.
one pack = one lbs of uncooked ground beef.
i mix one lbs of lean ground turkey and one bag of crumbles.
makes a lot but the rest saved can be added to other dishes another day.
my mother has now stopped turning her nose up at trying a dish i made with it.
she is actually taking some of my cabbage to work with her for lunch tomorrow.
and the mixture i used in it was left from tacos last night.
you can mix it with ground beef  as well.

a serving size of the crumbles is 2/3 cup
that has 80 calories2.5 grams of fat
saturated fat and trans fat 0
carbs 5
and protein 10

mixed with

                                                    Honeysuckle White

99% Fat Free Extra Lean Ground Turkey Breast

4 servings in a 1 lbs pack
calories 130
carbs 0
fat 7.5
protein 135

like for our tacos the serving size was a lot less.
so less guilt i feel eating it.
but even if u eat the serving size your 130 calories from the turkey turns into 105
a 25 calorie difference.

Turkey Bacon wrapped stuffed banana peppers.

12 banana peppers (tops cut seeded and sliced down side)
1 lb turkey sausage (serving size 4oz 250 calories)
1 cup feta cheese(serving size 1/4 cup 90 calories)
2 tbsp Parmesan cheese(40 calories)
one egg
12 strips turkey bacon(1 strip 25 calories)
tooth picks
marinara sauce(optional)

first i cut and seeded and washed the banana peppers.
next in a small pan cooked down the ground turkey sausage.
after browning i removed from fire and stirred in one egg and crumbled feta cheese and reduce fat parmesan cheese.
after stuffing the peppers we then wrapped each one with a strip of turkey bacon (using tooth picks to hole in place)
we then sprayed a pan with olive oil then placed all completed peppers on the pan then sprayed the tops lightly with olive oil.
we then baked the in oven for 20-30 min.
i laid a small amount of marinara sauce in bottom of a serving tray and set the cooked peppers on top.

we served this with home made baked macaroni and home made rice pilaf using yellow saffron rice. what a great dinner it was.
